As a Davines stylist and educator, I have a lot of products at my fingertips. Do I have my favorites? Of course! There are just certain products from the brand and within various segments that I find myself going back to again or again or that genuinely seem to meet the needs of not only my clients but also myself and my family. So here is a list of my top 5 favorite Davines products. You can purchase any of them in my salon studio in Garner or you can order from my online store here.
OI All in One Milk
If ever I was stranded on a desert island and only allowed one hair product, the OI All in One Milk would be that product. A hydrating hair milk for reducing frizz, it’s basically a multi-functional leave-in treatment that controls frizz, hydrates, protects, and softens, leaving hair shiny and silky. This hydrating milk conditioning spray tames and detangles for a smooth, naturally shiny look. Formulated with Roucou oil, rich in beta-carotene and natural antioxidants, it also contains deeply moisturizing provitamin B5 and a functional amino complex that provides resistance to stress and heat protection. It works for all hair types and I absolutely love it.
Not only is it a top selling item for Davines, but also for my salon. It has a nice, gender-neutral scent which anyone can appreciate and is easy to use thanks to the spray pump. (Tip: Shake well before using!)
Naturaltech Renewing Conditioning Treatment
Not all conditioners are designed to be used on both your scalp and hair but the Naturaltech Renewing Conditioning Treatment is. Why is that important? Because our scalps need moisture and balance too. Think of our scalps as an extension of the skin on our faces. You moisturize your face, right? Well, your scalp needs it too. And I know there are those of you out there who worry that you’re scalp is oily and so you don’t use conditioner. But scalp moisture imbalances can actually be contributing to that excess oil production. This conditioner is lightweight and balancing and can help remedy both oily and dry scalps. It nourishes, moisturizes and promotes the wellbeing of scalp and hair.
Bonus: it stimulates scalp and hair, making the hair fiber healthy, firm and shiny without weighing the hair down. Anyone can use this conditioner and it can be used from scalp to ends. I personally need more moisture and repair on my strands but I always use the Renewing Conditioning Treatment on my scalp and it has resolved many scalp issues for several of my clients.
More Inside This is an Invisible No Gas Spray
There was a moment in time following COVID and all the supply and demand challenges we saw when Davines stylists couldn’t get their hands on this magical spray. I ran out of my last bottle during prom season and legit wanted to cry. Thankfully, that was a temporary situation and now I have several bottles of More Inside This is an Invisible No Gas Spray both in my product cart and on my retail shelves. It’s a humidity-resistant, flexible non-aerosol hairspray for brushable hold and a natural, touchable finish.
I LOVE it not only for everyday styling after a client’s color or cut but it is absolutely my go to for special occasion styling. I can use it to heat style hair — whether I’m smoothing with a flat iron or I’m using a curling iron to create fabulous waves and curls. My personal preference is soft, touchable hair for myself and my clients but we also want long-lasting results and this spray 100% delivers.
Heart of Glass Instant Bonding Glow
Move over, Olaplex, because the Heart of Glass Instant Bonding Glow is sooo much better. It’s technically a serum but it is so much more than that. Thanks to the innovative formula enriched with biacidic bond complex and Illuminating amino concentrate, it strengthens and repairs the hair fiber and gives extra-shine, prolonging the brightness of the color and preserving its intensity. It was designed for blondes but even brunettes and redheads with color treated and/or lightened hair can use it.
I incorporate it into most of my blonding services at the studio but it’s not just for professional use. You can use it at home too before conditioning. It only needs to sit for a minute and voila!
More Inside This is a Curl Moisturizing Mousse
Davines has so many great curl product options between their Essentials Haircare Line and the More inside styling line but the one I still love most is the More Inside This is a Curl Moisturizing Mousse. It’s super easy to apply thanks to being a lightweight mousse. It adds hydration and defines your curls while keeping the curls bouncy and nourished without the added frizz. It starts with a slightly crisp curl cast as hair dries but you can easily break up and soften the cast by scrunching gently with your hands and still retain the shape of the curls.
(Tip: I like to use OI All in One Milk to break the curl cast by spraying it on my hair or hands and then scrunching. Works like a dream and keeps everything moisturized and frizz-free.)
